Men's care
A man's lips live at the pace of his days: smoking, sun, sport, shaving. They keep the trace. La Bouche Parfaite answers with a precise ritual, grounded in science, to help them recover their natural shade.

Why lips darken
Every day leaves its mark. On the lip, it shows as color.
Your lips have a skin of their own. Their surface barrier is incomplete: its cells keep their nucleus, a feature called parakeratosis. As a result, lips lose almost three times more water than the cheek and hold about a third of the moisture.1 When the lip is under attack, it reacts by producing more melanin, and the mark can last a long time.2
- Smoking. Compounds in smoke, including nicotine, stimulate the cells that make melanin.3,4 Doctors call it smoker's melanosis, also known as smoker's lips.
- Sun. UV light stimulates melanin production. The upper lip is the darker one in 85% of lips analyzed by LIPS-ID®.5
- Friction and irritation. Biting or licking your lips, irritating beard shaves around the mouth, chapping: repeated inflammation can leave a darker mark.2
- Sport. Swimming, running, cycling, skiing: sun, wind, chlorine or salt water dry out and irritate the lip, and an irritated lip keeps a mark more easily.2
- Some medicines. Certain medicines can pigment the lips or the inside of the mouth.6
A shade that is yours alone
Your natural shade, the one time has covered over.
Every mouth has its own natural shade, and some people naturally have an upper lip darker than the lower one.
The goal: fade the pigmentation added over time, on every skin.

The ritual, in three steps
Three steps. Science does the rest.
The essentials come down to 3 steps: N°1, N°2 and N°3. All three are clear and melt into the lips: they stay discreet.

Lip Cleanser Corrector
Jojoba oil cleanser: it gently cleanses the lip and preps it for the care that follows.Lip Peeling Corrector
Overnight enzymatic peel with bromelain and 5% tranexamic acid: it exfoliates without scrubbing and helps lighten built-up pigmentation.7Lip Balm Corrector
Balm with 5% tranexamic acid and 3% niacinamide: it slows melanin production, helps lighten pigmented areas and repairs the lip barrier.7,8

To complete it: the 5-step protocol
N°4 Lip Stain Corrector: a tinted care whose rose tint neutralizes gray and brown undertones. It extends the action of N°3 through the day.
N°5 Lip Gloss Corrector: a plumping gloss that shields the lip from the oxidation that darkens it and seals in the care applied underneath.

The ones men ask us, straight out.
How can a man even out dark lips?
With the same method as everyone: actives that even out color, gentle exfoliation and daily protection. Results depend on what caused the pigmentation, which the LIPS-ID® diagnostic helps identify.
My lips are getting darker and I don't smoke. Why?
Sun, repeated irritation and some medicines are enough. A small, single brown spot, often on the lower lip, is usually a labial melanotic macule: a harmless “freckle” of the lip.9 The LIPS-ID® diagnostic helps you identify the cause.
Can people see the products?
No. N°1, N°2 and N°3 are clear and melt into the lips: nobody can tell you're wearing anything. Only N°5 (glossy finish) and N°4 (instant color) show, for those who want it.
I quit smoking. Will my lips lighten on their own?
Smoking-related pigmentation can fade once you cut down or quit, but slowly.4,10 A regular ritual helps even out the shade faster.
Can I get lighter lips back?
You can get back your lip's natural shade by fading the pigmentation that has built up. It doesn't happen in a few days: it takes regular care.
Is a dark color on the lips serious?
Usually not. See a doctor if the color appears suddenly or gets worse for no reason, if a spot changes, bleeds, hurts or has irregular edges, if several spots appear, or if the tint is bluish or gray.6,9
